World Library and Information Congress: 71st IFLA General Conference and Council

Due to many individual inquiries on the IFLA Oslo 2005 World Library and Information CongressIt may be necessary to give the following bits of information for prospective attendees and new commers since you may need to commence preparation from now. All you need for IFLA conference include: invitation letter from IFLA to OSLO which you can get on request from the LOC chair for Oslo 2005 by email; flight ticket, money for your upkeep for the one week conference, Conference registratio fee, you will see prices for hotels on the net and will need to book in advance,check for any tours you intend to attend whether free or at what cost, and ofcourse an entry Visa to the hosting country. You will need to park and dress to match the weather of the time too. All NLA members are members of IFLA and we are registered up to date. Our number is NG002. Pls try and save for it or ask your organization to support you or apply for a grant. it is worth the while and it is the fastest way of remaining at the cutting edge of information technology and the best practices in our field globally. You may wish to check www.iflanet.org for more details on Oslo 2005 hotel prices, conference reg fee, tours, visa, grants, etc. On the election issue and the positions to contest for, you can only contest for standing committee membership first, them the standing committee members will vie and vote for themselves to existing posts. But you can now rise from there on to other positions. It is a collegiate system. NLA can nominate you if you have the means and assurance to attend the meetings. You have my best wishes please.
